More info about comic in Spanish:

In the next images you can learn how to draw characters, create body forms, create faces and expressions and create bodies with movement (click on the images to see them bigger):

ACTIVITY 1:

Complete the 2 copies that your teacher has given to you, one of them is creating different expresions and the other one is to represent different scenes.

*Upload all the tasks to the Padlet below.

ACTIVITY 2:

Create a comic about a superhero that could fight against one of the things that had happened during this last years and find a happy ending:

- Covid

- Filomena

- La Palma's volcano

- Latin bands

- Rusia-Ukrania war

- Sáhara's calima

You will have to create first a sketch on 1 white page, using min. 6 strips (viñetas) and make the final one on a bloc page.

*Before doing the sketch think about:
- Story:
- Main character/s:
- Scenography:
- Shots and angles:
- Strips (viñeta):
- Texts:
- Facial expressions, movement, details...:

*Upload all the tasks to the Padlet below.

*EXTRA ACTIVITY:

- Think about the coronavirus as a character. Of course it/she/he should be a villain.
- Your are going to create your villain on Voki, a digital tool.
- Click here to open the tool. Click on the left to change the character, accesories, background and color. You have to personalize your Coronavirus villain like it is made on Sims, for example.
- You have also to click on voice to make your character talk. Enter your message writing it down. You can make a description of your character: the name (Coronavirus), things that it/she/it loves doing, the attacks... (think about the coronavirus). You can also change the type of voice, woman/man...
- Once you have finished, click on save (down right), name it like Coronavirus + your name, click on save, click on No thanks (down) and copy URL and paste directly on the next Padlet. You can see how to post it explained with arrows in these next images:

Copy the link:

Open the Padlet above and create a post clicking on +, paste the link by clicking on the link icon, write your name, surname and course and save it:

DIGITAL COLOUR (Tic subtractive and additive)

As you have seen working with the mind map, there are two different kind of colour mixing.

The one we usually work at class is this one:
- When we talk about SUBTRACTIVE COLOR MIXING, we talk about PIGMENT.
- The primary colors are: CMY (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow).
- When we mix them we have BLACK.
- This is what happens when we mix primary subtractive colours using markers, pencil colours, watercolor...

But we also have this one:
- When we talk about ADDITIVE COLOR MIXING, we talk about LIGHT.
- The primary colors are: RGB (Red, Green and Blue).
- When we mix them we have WHITE.
- This is what happens when we mix primary additive colours using light.

Here you can see the difference:

ADDITIVE COLOR MIXING - LIGHT:            SUBTRACTIVE COLOR MIXING - PIGMENT:

Now I want you to work with this two different types of colour mixing in a digital way.
You will have to make 2 activities and send me the images through the next Padlet.
Read this information to learn how to capture you work in order to send it to me.

1) First of all, we are going to work with SUBTRACTIVE COLOR MIXING, with COMPLEMENTARY colours. Remember they are opposite on the wheel:

PRIMARY.......................................................SECONDARY
YELLOW............................................PURPLE(magenta+cyan)
CYAN...........................................ORANGE (yellow+magenta)
MAGENTA.............................................GREEN (yellow+cyan)

ACTIVITY 1:
- This is the first activity you have to make using digital tools.
- You can play digitally with different tools. There are games and different information about warm and cool colours, design...
  • Color Scheme Designer. Working with warm and colod colors, opposite ones... and colorblind.
  • Color Palette Generator. Enter the URL of an image to get a color palette that matches the image. This is useful for coming up with a website color palette that matches a key image a client wants.

2) Secondly, we are going to work with ADDITIVE COLOR MIXING, with LIGHT colours.

This is a course I made, in order to learn more about the additive color mixing. Look how much you can play with the light:

Link in Mediateca here

Now you are also going to play with the light using Light Labs digital tools.
Look at this example. Using the primary light colours, I moved the tools to create the mixture: the white color. Look at what happens with the shadows and mixtures:

White light created using the primary light colors here

ACTIVITY 2:
- This is the second activity you have to make using digital tools, to work with light as I explained above.
- Open the tool and make the activity: click here.
- You have to move the buttons, right-left, to change the HUE, VALUE and SATURATION (as you learned making the mind map) to create different mixtures, shadows... playing with the light.
- Try to be creative and build your own ambient.
- When you finish it, capture the image and send me through email. You can learn how to capture the image here.

EXTRA ACTIVITY:
- This is an optional activity.
- You have more tools to play with light and shadows:
  • Light lab. To play on a scene, playing with different lights and shadows.
  • Gobo lab. To play with different shadow forms using gobos.
- Play and move the buttons using different tools you find there.
- When you finish it, capture the image (or images) and send me through the next Padlet. You can learn how to capture the image here.
